The task requires you to work as a group to critically evaluate the development of qualitymanagement implementations in the manufacturing and service sectors. In doing so you willneed to demonstrate an understanding of the evolution of the industry's quality system, tools, and techniques.

Part 1- Introduction. You may want to discuss the key concepts of qualitymanagement, the history of quality management, the quality management movementin general, and quality management approaches, methods, tools, and techniques.

Part 2- Literature Review. Requires you to provide a critical review of existingacademic literature on quality management development and its application in boththe manufacturing and service sectors. You must critically contrast TQM and SixSigma as quality management methodologies and discuss the critical factors that canhelp successfully implement each methodology in manufacturing and serviceorganisations and the potential barriers that impede the implementation process ofeach method.

Part 3- Case Study. Requires you to research and select a single case companyeither manufacturing sector or service sector/ large or small size company, you mustcritically analyse the implementation of the quality management system of thecompany case of your choice. You should also discuss the benefits and risks ofimplementing the quality management system of the company case.
