Assignment Description
Business case study: Network design proposal for CASE.
With students needing Internet access for their education, the campus needed to build a wired network to give students more opportunities to access information online.
The university needs a comprehensive, technologically advanced Network solution that is cost effective and allow for network monitoring for this campus. The solution had to be easy to deploy and manage due to limited staff. The network need to cover the three main buildings. Client is also requesting wireless internet access at all buildings because a powerful wireless network would also allow staff, teachers and students to use their devices at campus. Moreover, the staff, students, and teachers each needed separate login credentials, to allow them different levels of Internet access.
(You will need to demonstrate your assignment during laboratory class).
Write a report with the following contents
• Executive Summary
• Network Topology
• Project hardware requirements
o Name of the network device with manufacturer's name, series, model and ports
o Network topology
o Type of the cables
o Name of the server, PC with specification such as operating system, RAM, hard disk etc.
• Network Design in Cisco Packet Tracer
• Network device configurations
a. Switch configuration:
o set hostname as your family name
o set system clock to 29th April 2020 5:00pm
o display the name of the file and version of IOS
o display the name of the interfaces
o display 6 IOS modes
b. Router configuration
o set hostname as your family name
o set system clock to 20th May 2020 4:45pm
o Set encrypted password for console access
o Configure the password for telnet access
o Demonstrate connectivity between different departments
