The primary purpose of project planning is to define the complete approach to the management and delivery of a project. A Project Plan identifies and documents all aspects that require consideration in order to meet the defined project objective. There are two tasks that make up this assessment:
Part A: Project Presentation-
Part B: Project Plan.
This assignment will be marked against the marking criteria at the end of the document.
Part A : Project Presentation (Group)
Working in a small group (3-4 people) you will become a project team. Your lecturer will advise you of your project team on day one of your course.
Your client is a local non-profit organization called "Wellbeing for All NZ", which supports refugee and low-income families in maintaining good health and nutrition. Many individuals and families face challenges in accessing nutritious food and basic healthcare resources. To address this issue, they have approached your project team to develop a new initiative called "Healthy Start", aimed at providing essential health and wellness packs to those in need.
Key Project Information:
Client Wellbeing for All NZ

* Part B : Project Plan (Individual)
Now that you have planned and determined how you will work together as a project team, this assessment task (Part B) requires you to continue to work individually. You will develop a robust project plan that meets the project brief from ‘Healthy Start,' and includes sections such as a Project Charter Communication Plan, Work Breakdown Structure, Budget etc. (as outlined in the project plan template).
The primary purpose of project planning is to define the complete approach to the management and delivery of a project. A Project Plan identifies and documents all aspects that require consideration in order to meet the defined project objective.
Project planning is a crucial part of the project life cycle and tells everyone involved where they are going and how they are going to get there. The planning phase describes how and when the project plans are documented; the project deliverables and requirements are defined, and how the project schedule is created. Project Planning involves creating a set of plans to help guide the team through the implementation and closure phases of the project. The plans created during this phase will help the team manage time, costs, quality, changes, risk, and related issues. The plans will also help you - the Project Manager control staff and external suppliers to ensure that the project is delivered on time, within budget and within the specified schedule.
Your task is to produce a fully completed project plan that meets the initial project brief.
Project Criteria:
You must use the Project Plan template provided for your written project plan.
Your report must be submitted through Moodle. You will reflect on individual and group contributions in Assessment Two.
You are required to act as the Project Manager for all sections of the project (e.g. Project Charter; Communication Plan; Work Breakdown Structure; Budget etc).
All project team members are responsible for ensuring that the project is submitted on time and you should all ensure that you have a copy of the final Project Plan submission.
You must be able to identify at least five (5) key stakeholders.
Individual elements of the Project Plan (such as Work Breakdown Structure, Communications Plan and Budget) are to be submitted by the dates specified in the course outline for formative feedback.
*Note: Need to do only Part B
