Culturally Relevant Lesson Plan

The purpose of this assignment is to begin to incorporate ideas from our course resources and discussions in your classroom and help you in becoming more culturally responsive. You are required to revise the lesson plan from your DISCUSSION BOARD: Initial Lesson Plan post by utilizing tenets of culturally responsive/culturally relevant pedagogy. For this final submission, make sure you use the required lesson plan format 4, and include specific details in each section.

Additionally, you will write and submit a minimum of 3 to 4-pages double-spaced reflection paper in Times New Roman or Arial 12 point font with 1-inch margins that cites evidence from the course resources* and describes your curricular and instructional decision-making. The paper should:

Question 1: discuss the importance of the lesson as it relates to your students and current classroom context

Question 2: describe how the lesson is culturally responsive/culturally relevant

Question 3: describe your decision-making/thoughts on why you made certain curricular and pedagogical choices and why you selected the instructional materials that you include (this should include discussing the impact you can have on your students by adopting a more culturally responsive approach)

Question 4: discuss any challenges you anticipate and/or your apprehensions with teaching this lesson and how you plan to handle them

Your paper should also have a cover page, reference page, and use proper APA formatting throughout.
