Preparation
For each deliverable in this course, you will be assuming the role of a project manager and completing tasks related to a proposed project. The project, which will be used to complete all deliverables 1-6 within the course, can be an actual project or completely fictionalized. Likewise, the company you work for can be your current workplace, or you can select a public company. Research the company you select to reflect real-time data and demonstrate real-life applications in alignment with the course material. If you need help choosing a company or have questions about a potential company, please contact your instructional faculty.
Scenario
There are many tasks that need to be completed when starting a project. As project manager, you will develop a project and scope management plan to present to the company leaders. The plan should focus on optimizing resources and project delivery to meet short-term and long-term growth, become profitable, and gain market shares.
Instructions
Create a project and scope management plan that includes the following:
A. Describe specific project planning phases.
B. Define objectives of the scope management plan, including anticipated costs for scoping activities.
C. Create a work breakdown structure (WBS) with established objectives and success criteria.
D. Identify challenges that have impacted the scope changes and describe management strategies used to overcome those challenges. Describe how you will monitor the state of the project scope.
E. Explain how you will get key stakeholders to buy into the project case and how you will validate criteria to meet key stakeholders' product needs.
