2. Ask the child to describe him/her. Ask if there is anything that they would like to change about themselves?

4. What kind of physical activities does he/she prefer? Does he/she have a favorite sport?

5. Who is his/her best friend? How long has he/she known him/her? What does he/she like about his/her friend?

6. What is it that makes a child popular/unpopular in their school?

7. What is his/her favorite subject in school? Least favorite? How does he/she feel about school?

8. Do they have any special tricks or techniques that help them remember information in school?

9. Describe a dream, daydream, or favorite fantasy? Where do dreams come from?

10. What responsibilities does he/she have at home?

11. Who do they live with? What do they enjoy doing with their family?

12. What position are they in the family? (only child, oldest, middle, youngest) What do they like about it or dislike about it?

13. Of the whole world, who would they choose to be like? What do they admire about that person?

14. What do they feel is the greatest challenge/problem in the world today? What can we do about it?

The following questions should be responded to in short paragraphs:

15. Using the theories of Piaget (Cognitive Development Ch. 12) and Erikson (Psychosocial Ch. 13), state the stages that you feel this school age child is currently in. Cite the evidence that supports these inferences.

16. Describe three aspects of his/her temperament? In general, is he/she more impulsive or reflective in their thinking? How did you reach this conclusion?
