Assignment: Business Project Management
For each deliverable in this course, you will be assuming the role of a project manager and completing tasks related to a proposed project. The project, which will be used to complete all deliverables 1-6 within the course, can be an actual project or completely fictionalized. Likewise, the company you work for can be your current workplace, or you can select a public company. Research the company you select to reflect real-time data and demonstrate real-life applications in alignment with the course material. If you need help choosing a company or have questions about a potential company, please contact your instructional faculty.
Scenario
You are starting a new job as a project manager! During the onboarding process for your new job, it was clear that due to the current economic shifts, a big part of your role is ensuring the company will be competitive in the marketplace. Using your project management knowledge, you will need to contribute to the long-term growth of your chosen company. Therefore, your first task is to develop a project proposal to help the organization meet its goals.
Instructions
Develop a project proposal including the following elements:
A. Summary of the project proposal plan and its importance to the organization.
B. Include how the project will help the organization meet its goals and contribute to growth.
C. Budget summary of the costs of all activities, tasks, and milestones that the project must fulfill to complete the proposed plan.
D. Identify key internal and external stakeholders and describe their roles and responsibilities to ensure the project's success and organizational objectives. Include your role as the project manager.
E. Create a project management lifestyle graph for the project, including the milestones of initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing.
F. Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the project management lifecycle framework based on current organizational goals. Example: A strength could be feasibility in the initiation stage, and a weakness could be regular team meetings due to time restrictions.
