Create a MATLAB program and flowchart which will allow the user to input an unknown number of temperatures, each of which might be a temperature in Celsius, Fahrenheit, Kelvin, or Rankine, and will convert the user input temperature to each of the other temperature scales. The program should request the units of the input temperature from the user, accepting as the units the character ‘C', ‘F', ‘K', or ‘R'. The program will store the input and equivalent temperatures in vectors, using one vector for each temperature scale. Obviously, temperatures below absolute zero will not be inputs ?. The program will also determine the average temperatures on each scale. Output from the program will be a properly labeled table including: Temperature number (e.g., 1,2,3..), the temperature in C, F, K and R. In the last row of the table the program will output the average temperature for each scale. Do not use MATLAB vector commands (e.g. sum(X), mean(X), etc.). EXTRA CREDIT: Have the program check to make sure the entered ‘temperature unit' is valid (upper case ‘C', ‘F', R', or ‘K').
Develop a simple urban constructed wetland design.
A vertical curve is to connect two tangents that intersect at station 50+00 and the elevation 500.00ft. The back tangent gradient is -4 percent, the forward tangent gradient is 2 percent, and the elevation of the curve at station 48+50 must equal ..
What mass (in grams) of steam at 100°C must be mixed with 387 g of ice at its melting point, in a thermally insulated container, to produce liquid water at 26.0°C? The specific heat of water is 4186 J/kg·K. The latent heat of fusion is 333 kJ/kg, ..
For satisfactory operation, the static pressure at the pump inlet must not be lower than -6 m of water gage. Determine the smallest standard commercial pipe that will give the required performance.
A tank is filled with oil (specific gravity 0.8) and water to a depth of 10 meter and 6 meter respectively. Find the resultant force from all fluids acting on the gate of 1.8 meter by 9 meter.
A two-phase liquid-vapor mixture of water is initially at a pressure of 10 bars. If on heating at fixed volume, the critical point is attained, determine the quality of the initial state.
Assume that during the analyze stage an obvious solution is discovered. Should that solution be immediately implemented and the remaining steps of DMAIC abandoned?
Assuming a standard driver reaction time of 2.5 seconds, what is the probability that the vehicle pulling out will get in an accident with oncoming traffic?
Vehicles begin to arrive at a toll booth at 850 am with an arrival rate of x(t) = 4.1 + .01t (with t in min and x(t) in veh /min.) The toll booth opens at 9am and processes vehicles at a rate of 12 per minute throughout the day. Assuming D/D/1 que..
If the engine is mounted solidly on a rigid foundation, what is the alternating force amplitude transmitted? Assume the connection rod to be of infinite length.
To float a 160 pound man using helium balloons (assume 0.52 cubic feet per inflated balloon). How many balloons would it take? Assume density of air is 1.29 kg/cubic meter and the density of helium is 0.179 kg/cubic meter.
