Question: In this week resources we learned a bit about leadership and managers. Leaders talk about the reason why the change needs to happen and discusses the vision that will come with the change. Managers are there to help decrease errors from reoccurring and makes sure the teams understands what needs to happen and gives encouragement during the change (Oachs & Watters, 2020). The change management strategy I would use is the Kotter's Phases of change. I would start the town hall meeting by talking about difficulties that is happening within Health information management and why it needs to change. To show evidence I would present statistics that show the pros of having an HIE. Next build a guiding coalition, I will mention the stakeholders who will be apart of the change. Third, create a compelling vision for the HIE, that matches with the goals of the organization, it is very important that the team understands the changes that will be coming. Communicate the vision it is important the team understands the new HIE plan, at this point, groups from the team will discuss topics about the HIE plan. Staff will not have the same tasks they had before, this will help eliminate challenges.
