Iman fled Syria during the civil war. She is a Sunni Muslim from Aleppo. She never expressed any political opinions and she never participated in political activities. However, many people in Aleppo participated in anti-Assad protests. The government recently bombed Aleppo indiscriminately resulting in many civilian deaths. Iman says that she cannot return to Aleppo because of the risk of death from the bombings.
