Consultant Skills Justification

Purpose

To identify your strengths and areas for improvement in the knowledge and skills needed to serve as an effective consultant on the Great Cups of Coffee cross-functional team.

Overview

In this course, you will be serving as the human resources expert in your cross functional team to advise Great Cups of Coffee on how they might enhance their operations. In your HR degree program, you have taken a variety of classes to prepare you for this assignment, which is also similar to the function you will perform in the real working world. At this point, you will have taken the HR pretest and, after reading the Great Cups of Coffee case information, you should have a better idea of your skills and knowledge. This assignment will allow you to reflect on what you might need to improve in order to serve in your role as a consultant, and what your strengths are as a consultant. As this is a 15 week course, you have time to review any areas needing improvement.

a) Human Resource Association of Central Ohio

b) Society of Human Resource Management

2. Identify one item that is of interest to you on each website.

3. Consider how joining a local and/or national chapter can help advance your knolwedge of HR and your career.

4. Write a 2-3 page paper identifying and explaining the following:

a) The skills and knowledge you bring as a consult that will help the team address the Great Cups of Coffee project.

b) The skills and knowledge you need to develop, based on your own personal experience.
