(f) f(x) = cos(arcsin(x))

3. Compute the derivative of (sin(x))3 by using the chain rule and by using the product rule. Do you get the same answer in either case?

4. Use implicit differentiation to find the tangent line to the circle x2 +y2 = 25 at the point (3, -4). What happens when you try to solve for y and find the derivative instead of using implicit differentiation?

5. Use implicit differentation to find the slope of the tangent line to a point (a, b) that lies on on the circle x2 + y2 = 1. Express your answer in terms of a and b.

6. Sketch the graph of the function f(x) = x3 - 2x. Find f''(-1), f''(0), and f''(2). What do you think the second derivative might tell us about the graph?
