1. Setting: Write a brief description of the place and time in which your story takes place.
2. Characters: Your story must have at least one main character and one or more secondary characters. You must give these characters specific and identifiable traits. It is recommended to write a brief description of each character when you introduce them or include their characteristics at different moments in the story.
3. Plot: Your story must have an introduction, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution.
Your short story should be one or two pages in length.
Include at least four examples of figurative language. Identify the figurative language included in your story. For example: The heart is like a pump (simile).
