Assignment: This Reaction Paper measures the acquisition of the following objectives:

• Evaluate works from various writers from the region.
• Analyze key concepts of culture as articulated by historians, critics, artists & scholars from the colonial to the contemporary era.
• Study Intellectual and inter-hemispheric scholarship.
• Articulate elements of diasporic literature, e.g. Latinx, Chicano/a, Caribbean, etc.
• This assignment will help to familiarize students with the literary production from their chosen region. It will allow them to research authors and texts as they settle on one for the close reading. Students will look for evidence of social science constructs based on the vocabulary that they have acquired. This will reinforce their understanding of concepts such as assimilation, syncretism, creolization, magical realism, etc
