Case Study: In this assignment, each student will create a four to six minutes presentation of the future scenarios for Tourism/Hospitality in 2030 based on the trends identified and your understanding of Lectures, readings, and tutorials from week-1 to 5. Students should also use research material from EBSCO Online Resources, Digital Magazines (Flipster), and Gale (Hospitality, Tourism & Leisure).
Please refer to the following information while creating the presentation:
· The student should review CSIRO Report as a part of Strategic Intelligence Scanning and need to analyse Tourism and Hospitality Industry's "Near-Future Context."
· Once you have analysed and Tourism and Hospitality Industry's "Near-Future Context," you need to consider Trends, Issues, Themes, and Deep" Drivers of Change (System Structure / Dynamics) to forecast future scenarios for the Tourism/Hospitality Industry or Sub- Industries/Departments/Areas in 2030 based on the trends identified and on your understanding of Lectures, readings, and tutorials from week-1 to 5.
· Based on forecasted future scenarios, you must develop a four-to-six-minute presentation and deliver it to the class in week 6. This presentation can include animations, PowerPoint, pictures, narration, multimedia, or a mix. The main objective is to communicate and present your chosen industry's future scenarios in an engaging, persuasive, and entertaining way.
· Your scenario must be supported by research and evidence, but you are encouraged to make your scenario as creative as possible without compromising the accuracy of the content.
Criteria used to grade this task:
Question 1. Analyse the global environment to predict alternative futures based on different combinations of assumptions, facts and trends
Question 2. Appreciate and explain future opportunities afforded by advances in technology, particularly as they relate to global and continental transportation
Question 3. Develop advanced persuasive arguments which stimulate group discussion on pressing issues
Question 4. Conduct effective research to validate predicted directions of the tourism/hospitality industry
