Question

You learned about the way our court systems are set up in the U.S. and the many kind of courts within them. These include federal and state courts, civil vs. criminal courts, bankruptcy courts, small claims court, tax court, divorce court, etc. Many of you have either been to court for a case of your own, gone to court with a friend or family member, have served on a jury, or have had some kind of interaction with our legal system. If you have or know someone who has and don't mind sharing, tell us what type of court you or they were in, whether it was civil or criminal, what each side was hoping to achieve through the case, and what the outcome was.

If you don't have a personal experience to share and don't know anyone else who's experience you can talk about, discuss a potential claim that you might want to bring against someone else, and explain what type of court it would be in, whether it would be civil or criminal, and the type of remedy you would hope to achieve in the case.
