Question: Independent random samples taken on two university campuses revealed the following information concerning the average amount spent on textbooks during the past semester: At university "A" a sample of 50 students showed a sample mean of USD 260 and a sample standard deviation of USD 20, at university "B" a sample of 40 students showed a sample mean of USD 250 and a sample standard deviation of USD 23. At a 5 percent level of significance, test to see if there is a significant difference in the average amount spent at the two schools. Write your conclusion?
