Q. What is the gross primary production of an ecosystem? How does GPP relate to photosynthesis?

The Gross primary production of a GPP or ecosystem is the quantity of organic material found in a given area in a given period.

Ever since only autotrophs produce photosynthesis and organic material is the main production process, GPP is a result of the photosynthesis.
