What is the adnexal organ of the digestive system, Biology

Assignment Help:

Q. What is the adnexal organ of the digestive system in which bile is stored? How does this organ react to the ingestion of fat rich food?

Bile is concentrated and stored in the gallbladder. When fat rich foods are ingested the gallbladder contracts to release bile inside the duodenum. (This is the reason why patients with gallstones must not ingest fatty food the reactive contraction of the gallbladder may move some of the stones to the point of blocking the duct that drains bile into the duodenum, causing pain and possible severe complications.)
