Liquid water in a pumped flow system experiences varying pressures as it circulates through the system. One concern in designing any such system is to ensure that cavitation does not occur. If the water temperature during operation of a particular system can vary between 5 deg C and 50 deg C, what would be the minimum permissible absolute pressure that could occur anywhere in the system without cavitations? In solving this problem, you may use the values tabulated in Table A.5 of your text (Fundamentals of Fluid Mechanics) for the vapor pressure of water... or, alternatively, you can use a saturated steam table from your thermodynamics textbook to get more exact temperature-vapor pressure data.
