The enteric juice is secreted by the small intestine mucosa. The enzymes of the enteric juice and their respective functions are explained as follows:
Enterokinase: enzyme that activates trypsinogen into trypsin. Saccharase: enzyme that breaks sucrose (saccharose) into fructose and glucose. Maltase: enzyme that breaks maltose into two glucose molecules. Lactase: enzyme that breaks lactose into galactose and glucose. Peptidases: enzymes that break oligopeptides into amino acids.
