What is Requirements Engineering

Requirements engineering is systematic use of proven techniques, principles and language tools for cost effective analysis, on-going evaluationand documentation of user's needs and specification of external behaviour of a system to satisfy those user requirements. It can be described as a discipline that addresses requirements of objects all along a system development process.
