The University needs to develop an online student registration system for new CAO
entrants. This system will allow new students to enroll in their university course.
Each student is given a unique 8 digit student number, while each undergraduate
course has a unique course code eg: GY350. All essential contact details for students
will also need to be recorded by the system.(Name, Address, Phone Number, Contact
Email, Gender). The University has decided to award special scholarships to students
who are enrolling with more than 550 CAO points. To reward skills in the area of
Maths, the University has also introduced a special award for new entry
undergraduate students. Based on their Leaving Certificate results, the 5 highest
achieving students in Leaving Cert Maths will be presented with a special Maths
Achievement Medal. This is independent of whether they qualify for a scholarship or
not. The relevent students will be made aware of their eligability for these various
awards when they enroll online.
