Q. What is Neo-Freudian theory?

This theory tends to highlight the fundamental role of social relationships in the formation and development of personality. Alfred Adler outlooks human beings as seeking to overcome feelings of inferiority. Harry Stack Sullivan alleged that people attempt to establish significant as well as rewarding relationships with others. Karen Horney saw individuals as struggling to overcome feelings of anxiety and categorized them as aggressive, compliant or detached.
