What is difficult breathing?

Difficult Breathing: Tachypnea (respiratory rates consistently more than 451 min), is a characteristic manifestation of heart failure in newborns (pre-term newborns may normally have respiratoly rates of up to 60/min). For infants, subcostal or intercostal retractions together with flaring of nostrils alae nasii are frequently associated with tachypnoea.
