What is a clipper circuit, Electrical Engineering

Assignment Help:

Q. What is a clipper circuit?

Clipping circuits are linear wave shaping circuits. The main function of 'clipper' is that it clips off a part of input waveform i.e., it cut off the positive and negative portions of the input waveform. If the clipper cuts-off positive part of the input waveform, it is called "positive clipper". And if clipper cuts-off the negative portion of input waveform, it is called "negative clipper". Clipper is also used to slice off an input waveform between two preset voltage levels.
