Q. What do you meant by Diabetic Ketoacidosis?
Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) is one of the acute complications of diabetes mellitus. The name itself implies that there is acidosis (decrease in blood PH) caused by increased level of ketones in the blood, produced because of less insulin. It is more common in Type 1 DM, as Type 1 DM is associated with absolute insulin deficiency.
