The pre-tensioned construction finds more use and application in the construction of those structural concrete members which are of small sizes and which are generally made in large numbers. The case of a Prestressed concrete railway sleeper is an example of such a type of member. Post-tensioned concrete members are usually big sized elements, such as long spam bridge girders.
