What have RAD and extreme programming got in common? What are the claimed advantages of these approaches?

Both XP and RAD have as their common intention, and when their primary claimed advantage, the speedy delivery of system characteristics and functionality to meet users’ requirements. The dissimilarity between the two approaches is mostly to do along with scale and scope; while RAD is regarding the development of whole systems, XP consider to more concerned along with adding individual characteristics. Both approaches comprise developers working closely along with users to define the requirement (by using ‘stories’ into the case of XP, through developing prototypes into RAD) and the advocates of both also stress the requirement for appropriate documentation of the results.
