We need to develop a Number recognition from image (OCR) in PHP

We want a piece of code that can analyze an image and read the numbers in the image and return these as text. The image can comprise much information so it must be possible to make a selection to analyze just a part of the image.

We will be utilizing this in our application which is in PHP thus this code also has to be written in PHP and run on an Apache Linux server.
