Unity and continuity of domicile

Conversely S.10 of the Act provides such no person may have more than one domicile at any one time and no person shall be deemed for be without a domicile.  Even though a person may have left the country of his domicile by means of the intention of never returning, then he will retain that domicile until he acquires a new domicile of choice.  Since there the domicile of derivation or origin is, however, not destroyed although is merely put in abeyance during the continuance of choice of a domicile and is the revived through loss of the domicile of choice.

Importance of domicile

However it may become compulsory to ascertain a person's domicile in the order to determine country whose laws will govern that the validity of his Will relating to moveable property and that other matters like legitimating, validity of divorce and marriage.
