Thermal Stresses in Tapered Section, Mechanical Engineering

Assignment Help:
A rigidly fixed circular bar 1.75mm long uniformly tapers from 125mm dia. at 1 end to 100mm dia. at other end. If the max. stress in the bar is not to exceed 108MPa. Find the temperature through which it can be heated. Take E & alpha for the bar material as 100GPa & Alpha=18*10^-6/k respectively.
