Strength tests: These tests are carried out to check the holding powers of various binders used in green moulding sand, dry moulding sand and core sand. These tests are performed on a U.T.M. The various test carried out includes:-
1. Compressive strength test
2. Shear strength test
3. Tensile strength test
4. Bending strength test
Out of these, compressive strength test is most important. The test specimen is
5.08 cm Φ × 5.08 cm long. The test is performed by applying a uniformly increasing load on sand specimen until it breaks. The compressive strength is read directly on the scale of the machine.
Q. What is Hot extrusion? Hot extrusion is a hot working process, which means it is done above the material's recrystallization temperature to keep the material from work harde
Evaluate stress induced in rod: The two copper rods and one steel rod lie in vertical plane and support load of 50kN together as shown in figure given below. Each rod is 25 m
Figure shows a Warren girder consisting of seven members each of 3 m length freely supported at its end points. The girder is loaded at B and C as given. Determine the forces in al

Effect of Individual Alloying Elements: Sulfur Sulfur is not a needed element in steel since in interferes along with hot rolling and forging resulting in hot-shortness
pin shift return spring : Check pin shift return spring for proper torque.
Plate oil Separator: Check for plate oil separator fitment.
For the normal force in Figure to have the same magnitude at all points on the vertical track, the stunt driver must adjust the speed to be different at different points. Suppose,
(a) Draw neatly and accurately the Merchant force circle diagram. Mention clearly the forces involved, the constructional steps and the assumptions made [do not derive the forces]
