Q. Suspension with or without pay?

Suspension with or without pay pending enquiry if needed: where the nature of misconduct is grave and serious, and if it is in the interest of security and safety and maintenance of good order and discipline in the establishment, the worker may be suspended with or without pay till disciplinary proceedings are completed. A manager may suspend a worker even before the charge sheet is issued or an order of suspension may be given along with the charge sheet. In a case where standing orders limits the period of suspension, the enquiry must either be completed within the period or wage should be paid for the time exceeded.
