Substantive Law:
Therefore this is concerned through the rules themselves as opposed to the procedure on how to affect them. So it defines the rights and duties of parties and offered remedies whether those rights are violated like e.g. law of contract and negligence and defamation. Hence it defines offences and prescribes punishment like e.g. Penal Code Cap 63.
Procedural Law:
There it contains of the steps or guiding principles or rules of practice to be complied through or followed in the administration of justice or in the application of substantive law.
