Q. Scope of Materials for sulfuric acid service?
This Engineering Practice presents materials of construction commonly used in Sulfuric Acid service. The corrosiveness of sulfuric acid is dependent on several factors such as concentration, temperature, contaminants, flow velocity, etc.
At this time, only the selection of metallic materials for specific corrosion or high temperature applications has been included. Other materials may be addressed in subsequent Engineering Practices.
Each material of construction presented is discussed with respect to its concentration and temperature limits. Also included are special precautions to be considered as well as information on welding requirements.
