Although a review include the application of techniques and audit skills and the gathering of evidence, it does not usually include an assessment of accounting and internal control systems, tests of responses and of records to investigation by obtain corroborating evidence through inspection, confirmation, observation and computation that are procedures ordinarily executing during in an audit.

Even though the auditor attempts to become aware of all considerable matters, the procedures of this objective of a pre-review make the achievement less likely than in an audit engagement, hence the level of assurance provided in a preview report is corresponding in less than which is given in an audit report.
