Folic acid and vitamin B12 are important for production of new cells. DNA must replicate and transmit its genetic information to FWA intermediates. As mentioned previously, folic acid has a role in prevention of neural tube defects. However; we need to bear in mind that effects of high intakes of folic acid are not well known, but it can complicate the diagnosis of B12 deficiency.
