Reduce inspection cost by acceptance planning
In few cases where there are number of methods, available to protect the supplier and the customer from poor quality, it so happens that not always these methods suit appropriately. In such instances, inspection is performed on every part received, sold to ensure quality, but 100% inspection might not be possible always, since it is expensive and also time consuming.
Acceptance sampling plan is practical, it explains about the number of units to be sampled from a lot and number of defects that can be allowed in a sample for testing purpose.
Whenever an acceptance sampling plan is created, the worst quality that would be accepted on a regular basis is specified (referred to as Acceptance quality level) and the quality level that would be rejected (referred to as RQL).
