A tool used by individuals to calculate a quantitative analysis of information in a company''s financial statements. Ratios are evaluated from current year numbers and are then compared to last years, other companies, the big industry, or even the economy to evaluator the performance of the company. Ratio analysis is predominately used by components of fundamental analysis.
