Nozzle design loads, Mechanical Engineering

Assignment Help:

Q. Nozzle Design Loads?

Minimum nozzle design loads shall be in accordance.

F = Axial force on centre line of nozzle (lbs); Maximum Transverse Force =1.5F

FR = Resultant Force; FR<1.75F

MC & ML = Circumferential & Longitudinal Bending Moments (ft. lbs)

MR = Resultant Moment; MR<1.5MC allowable

Where actual nozzle loads exceed the tabulated values and WorleyParsons considers that they may be acceptable, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) may be carried out. If the results of the FEA indicate that the actual stresses are below the allowables, the loads and the FEA results shall be submitted to the fabricator for review and approval.
