Millon test - Test of proteins

Millon's test : while millon's reagent (mercurous & mercuric nitrate in nitric acid) is added to a protein solution, a white precipitate that turns brick red on heating, may be made. This test is specified by proteins that yield tyrosine on hydrolysis. This is because of the existence of phenolic group.
