For making several useful metallic acetates, illustrated as:

(1) Basic copper acetate that is used for making green paints.

(2) Al, Fe and Cr acetates that are used as mordants in dyeing.

(3) Lead tetra-acetate that is a good oxidising agent.

(4) Basic lead acetate that is used in the manufacture of white lead.

(5) Aluminium acetate that is used in the manufacture of water-proof fabrics.

(6) Alkali acetates that are used as diuretics.
