The material of steel tendons also must be of a high strength. Tendons should possess required material and geometrical properties so that a desired degree of prestress could be produced in the material. It should remain elastic utpo to high stress levels. It should have a high value of elastic modulus in order to contribute to the stiffness of the prestressed structural element.
