You are a network consultant working for a large European networVservice provider and have been given the task of reviewing the future network requirements of the company for its fixed and mobile services.

Specifically, you are tasked with the following:

1.Identify the main market areas in the next five years 

Using reputable sourses? identify and discuss the main applications that will be seen in the network in the next five years. What is the growth of the fixed and mobile networks? What percentage of traffic will be from mobile handsets? What service is likely to generate the largest revenue? What will be the predominant service in the future?

2. What are the network requirements for such services? 

Are there any specific network requirements that are necessary to support these services (eg delay, jitter, packet loss, bandwidth etc) - quantify where possible. What is the most difficult service to transport in the network and why?

3. What are the implications of emerging mobile technologies? 

Long term evolution (LTE) is a disruptive mobile technology. Briefly explain its fundamental principles; how it differs from today's 2G and 3G mobile technologies. What services will be enabled by it's deployment. What effect will such a technology have on the fixed network?

Should it be of concern to a network operator?

4. What is Carrier Class Ethernet? Should the company think about deptoying this technology in the core of the network? 

Briefly explain the concept of Carrier Class Ethernet and how it differs from standard Ethernet. Explain where it would be used in the network if it were to be deployed. What advantages are there to using it? Should the company deploy it?

Your report should be concise and written to a high quality standard as would be expected in industry (
