Illustrate the term semiconductor laser.

Semiconductor Laser (Laser diode):

It is a laser wherein semiconductors (characteristically direct band-gap semiconductors) can be utilized as small, highly effectual photon sources.

The most general semiconducting material which has been used in lasers is gallium arsenide (i.e., GaAs). An illustration of this semiconducting laser diode is demonstrated here.
