Microprocessor would be used to control the below features, for instance:

- Automatically tuning into television stations

- allow digital signals to be decoded

- Since constantly monitoring signal strength (etc.) far better sound and picture quality result)

-  allows interface with numerous devices

-  In built diagnostics in case of faults

-  Controls picture and sound quality (factory settings can be stored, etc.)
