Hyperboloid of Two Sheets
The equation which is given here is the equation of a hyperboloid of two sheets.
- x2/a2 - y2 / b2 + z2/c2 = 1
Here is a diagram of a common hyperboloid of two sheets.
The variable along with the positive in front of it will provide the axis along which the graph is centered.
Note that the only difference in between the hyperboloid of one sheet and the hyperboloid of two sheets is the signs in front of the variables. They are precisely the opposite signs.
