How to Solving One-Step Equations?
Equations, where one math operation is acting on the variable, can be solved in one step. The trick is to get the variable x by itself - isolate the variable. The following 4 equations involve one math operation.x+ 2 = 6x-2 = 62x = 6x/2 = 6(2x means 2 multiplied times x)In the above examples, x is the variable. The math operations are: 1.) add, 2.) subtract, 3.) multiply, and 4.) divide. Addition Equations : To solve for addition equations, subtract the number being added to x on both sides of the equation.Example: Solve for x in the equation x + 5 = 13.x + 5 = 13 x + 5 - 5 = 13 - 5 Subtract five from both sides.x = 8 Simplify.8 + 5 = 13 Check the answer.
Subtraction Equations : To solve for subtraction equations, add the number being subtracted from x on both sides of the equation.Example: Solve for x in the equation x - 3 = 19.x - 3 = 19 x - 3 + 3 = 19 + 3 Add 3 to both sides.x = 22 Simplify.22 - 3 = 19 Check the answer.
Infinite limits : Let's now move onto the definition of infinite limits. Here are the two definitions which we have to cover both possibilities, limits which are positive infinity
