The tests enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and Western-blot search for the presence of specific antibodies against HIV antigens in blood samples. Ever since only one positive ELISA is not conclusive, as false positive tests may happen, the Western-blot test is often used after the positive ELISA.
